At Last I See the Light
Nestled near the entrance to Anandapur (otherwise known as the “Asia section” of Disney’s Animal Kingdom) is a little crossroads. During the day, most people pass through to see the Feathered Friends in Flight! show at the Anandapur Theatre, listen to Chakranadi play the sitar or to make their way to Expedition Everest. However, by night fall, the traffic dials back, the lights come on and the magic of this vignette happens. This is one of places in the Florida theme parks that seems special for no reason at all (e.g. the Tangled bathrooms). Yet, every time I find myself here at nighttime, I say “this is just so pretty” out loud before I can even catch myself.
Editing wasn’t to heavy here. I cropped high to block out a few strangers that snuck into one corner of the shot. I brought up the exposure in the foreground and deepened the shadows in the background. I think I caught one or two actual stars, while the other star-like anomalies are just lens reflections — but hey, sometimes mistakes work, and I kind of like them here. Of course, I boosted the saturation a bit because, well, why not.
