Monorail

Of all of the pictures I’ve posted thus far on the blog, this may seem the most uninteresting. Yet, I kept coming back to it. I even edited other photos in the carousel taken in the same window of time, photos of actual monorails, but kept coming back to this one. Sometimes, you have to stop asking questions and just go with it.

Editing is light here. I really liked the sun glare, so wanted to make it the star. So I adjusted the contrast and shadows, then pulled the whites way back. There is a subtle decoration to the sign, a distorted monorail image, that frankly I’ve never seen with my naked eye — but when you pulled the white back, it was more visible. I brought the tone just a little cooler and amped up the texture a bit. And there ya’ go…a relatively boring picture I kinda dig.
